Porsche 550RS Spyder 1/43rd Diecast - 1956 1000km of Nurburgring

$39.99

The #34 Porsche 550RS Spyder of Michael May for the 1956 Nurburgring 1000kms is thought by many to be the first use of an airplane style wing on a race car, almost a decade before Chapparal in Can-Am and Lotus in Formula 1.

Unfortuantely, bowing to pressure from the Porsche factory team, organizers refused to let the car race, and interest in wings on race cars fell by the wayside for the next decade.
